Music Bridge, June Horse Day and Museum's Night, 25th and 26th June

In this year the 15th Budapest Fair is organized in the city of Hungary on 25th and 26th June. During this Fair Budapest shows its varied culture so the audience can choose between open air concerts, folk programmes, theatre plays, two Danube bridges become pedestrian bridges for two days and some special programmes are connected to the Fair.

It is tradition that the Budapest Festival Orchestra plays on the first night of the Fair. They present Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. As the composer said the end of this symphony was about the happiness, cheerfulness and festivity. The main events take place on the Chain Bridge. On Saturday the audience can listen Hungarian, Gypsy, Balkan, Moldavian, Irish, Southern Slav folk music but on the other bridgehead jazz and world music get leading part. „The bridge is ours” on Sunday. There are programmes for children and families on the Chain Bridge, play mats, puppet shows, tales, concerts, children's musicals, playhouse, balloon game, making creative gifts all day. The other scene of the Budapest Fair is the Hajogyar Island. There are June Horse Days on the island for two days. Among others the programme contains mediaeval tournament, pony horseherds, mounted martial displays and side-saddle ride.

Special programme of the Fair is the Museum's Night which was very popular in the last years in Budapest. In this year the organizing committee expects more than 100000 visitors in 36 locations during the long open night of the museums and the event is organized in other towns of Hungary as well. Beside the Chain Bridge the Elisabeth Bridge becomes pedestrian bridge but a giant artwork as well. Colour spotlights dress up to glad rags the bridge and Budapest during the Fair.
