THEALTER & SZASSZ – Meeting of free and alternative theatres in Hungary

THEALTER –15th International Meeting of Free Theatres and SZASSZ – 11th alternative Theatre Festival started on Monday in Szeged. The Festival of the South Hungarian town presents creative communities which chose the theatrical work as style of living but stay outside of the official, state financed theatrical structure. According to precedent theatres of South and Eastern Europe have opportunity to their repertoire; the audience can get acquainted with Russian, Serbian, Turkish, Bulgarian and Hungarian performances.

Gyorgyi Bodor president of the organizer MASZK Association spotted two significant performances, Triada, by the Russian BlackSkyWhite Theatre, which shows something completely new in the content and scenery and the Lili Handel – blood, poetry and music from the white whore's boudoir which is presented by the Bulgarian artist Ivo Dimchev who tells a strange and hard story by himself by means of dance and body theatre.

Besides the theatrical plays puppet theatre, art and photo exhibitions are held during the festival until Sunday.
